Um, hello! Has anyone seen the Doctor recently? I don't know if you know him, he's tall and skinny, big brown eyes, hair like a mad rooster? Only I haven't seen him in more than a week and he isn't answering his phone, and it'd be just like him to get into trouble. [beat] Oh! I'm Charley, by the way, I'm a friend of his.

Today is perfect; perhaps around three o'clock? Obviously I don't know how long it'll take you to get here. Um, are these messages private? I know that first call I sent was open, and I don't exactly want to broadcast my address to anyone who might see.

… Hullo?

[hey, it's a baffled teenage girl]

I know the Doctor, but I haven't seen him in a while, either. [her tone shifts into concerned territory] Do you need help looking for him?

Hello!

[Charley's voice is cheery on the greeting, before dropping into a more pensive tone.]

I don't know; I might do. I'm relatively new here, so I'm not quite up on everything that's going on, but I know there's some kind of... supra-governmental evil secret organisation that he didn't want to tell me about, and he's got a talent for getting himself in the soup.

[And she's slipping back into baffled land. She gets the veiled Romac reference; it's just the thought of the Doctor suddenly being caught up by them that's throwing her.]

He's been avoiding them well enough so far. [A brief pause while she nibbles her thumbnail pensively.] I can take a look around the city, though, and have my friends keep an eye out for him.

I mean, I might be overreacting; he might just have been hiding in the TARDIS for the last week, I don't know, but I thought I'd ask. And that'd be lovely, thank you. Oh, sorry, I don't even know who you are.

Oh! [Where are her manners?] Sorry, I'm Daine. And I'm in the park right now, so I can check with the TARDIS as well. He'll probably turn up. I can let you know if I find anything.

Daine; lovely to meet you, if... this can really be called meeting, properly. [a little laugh] Thanks very much, anyway. And if you talk to the TARDIS-- maybe don't mention me? She, uh, isn't terribly fond of me. I'd hope concern for the Doctor would trump any other... personal difficulties, but one never knows.

He's not answering his phone?

Hullo, Charley, didn't have your number. Do now. It's not him, it's Andrew.

Andrew! Hello; good to talk to you in the waking world. [Her voice acquires a tint of dry self-awareness at the queerness of that statement.] I've got a lead on what's happened to him, actually; maybe you can help me?

Probably I can help you. What's he got himself into?

[For all the lighthearted tone, Andrew is at least a little worried for the Time Lord.]

We think he's got himself kidnapped by Zagreus. Or something. I haven't met Zagreus yet-- this version of him anyway-- but-- do you think that's likely? I don't know if you know Johnny? But he saw him quite literally disappear.

((OOC: SORRY FOR THE MASSIVE DELAY I WAS AT A CON))

I don't know Johnny, but I have the feeling I'd better talk to him. If it's really Zagreus, we have a serious problem.

[Why didn't he keep a closer eye on Zagreus? This isn't the online community where no one could reach anyone else for real most of the time. The stakes are higher here; he and the TARDIS and the Doctor should have been doing more from the start to contain a known threat.]
