Yeah. I'm not sure anybody really knows much more about it than that. Every week or so there's a big one with everybody, but people can just pop into your normal dreams sometimes too.

Not on purpose. It's usually pretty inconvenient.

Really? I just figured I hadn't run into you. Those big ones can get crazy. I met a dead guy in one once, but he hadn't ascended, just normal died.

You're back in all of it now though?

I think so. as far as I can tell, anyway. is dying common here, then?

I don't think so. People act like it isn't.

He turned into a ghost later, which is apparently not common either.

True. It seems like the Rift can do whatever it wants anyway. Maybe it'll put him back.

You told me a while beforehand that you were going to look for a way out. I guess maybe you found it.

Guess so. would've been nice to know it would leave me completely scrambled in the memories department.

You thought the Rift would get mad about it. Though Rush said it had happened before, so I guess that's just how descending works?

I'm glad you're getting better at least.

yeah. He said usually stuff just returns on its own, but I might not ever remember what I did while I was ascended in the first place.

then again, he did say he's never actually done it. Just me. So I don't know.

He did mention that. Like you made a habit of it.

I don't know too much about what you did like that. You were having trouble sticking in time and being visible, so you just appeared out of nowhere every now and then.

I guess that would make sense, considering what I was. that doesn't sound very reliable. I hope I didn't startle anyone.

Sorry - I told you that, but you were ascended at the time. You called it an extrasensory thing.

Yep, it's not a Rift thing. Some people DO get random powers from that.

so I've heard, yeah. not sure if I have any or not, other than the ascending thing. Ascension might've uh, rewritten my genetic structure? or so Nick says.

Nick said I wasn't completely human before. ascension always leaves behind a kind of fingerprint? sometimes trace stuff gets left behind.

Not really! Just the once, to come here in the first place.
